What I think he is talking about goes far beyond mere criticism. It sounds
to me like he is talking about bringing hundreds of people to the
conference to prevent the speakers from speaking and prevent people from
attending, or at least to make the attendees go through a gauntlet of
angry, shouting demonstrators.
I don't think the protestors will try to obstruct the event from
happening. When we protested the Department of Commerce hearing
we did not stop anyone from speaking. We just made sure our views
were visible.
