select inbox (click once); select Tools/MailSettings (from the menubar - file,edit,view, etc); select the "account" or add a new one; select the "Receiving Mail" tab; set the "Server Type" to (i'm guessing that you want "Local Delivery"; set the path to your /var/spool/mail/; apply the settings
