Yeah, I tried but I could not find a way to get a machine with anything but Windows on it. This wouldn't be the first time that a major OEM has made a lot of noise about selling Linux preloads on desktops only to make it impossible to actually order one.
I wonder if they use these announcements as a barganing chip in order to negotiate better licensing terms with Microsoft. I can't think of any other reason to announce a product but not actually sell it.
I guess people will know that an OEM is serious when they offer Linux across their entire product line and make it a standard option on their main website instead of only on one somewhat underpowered model or relegating Linux to a subsection of their website like www.hp.com/linux.
