I've only got a minute now that I'm immersed in someone's server
meltdown, but I have a lot of problems with Flash, and they're not all
Adobe's fault. The eye candy thing is a problem, it chews up CPU. I
can have hundreds of tabs open in Firefox but one single tab running
Flash is what brings responsiveness down. Nobody's forced to put eye
candy on their page, but more and more of them do.
This embedding of video into Flash is another problem. Adobe's been
pushing this as a DRM-friendly environment as well.
But when I say there's big trouble afoot, I'm really referring to all
new security issues. Flash has had trouble already, and it's in all
likelihood about to get a whole lot worse. Look at what they're up to

that's going to end well. Not.

Oh and one last thing... People have been crowing we've got the latest
version of Flash now for Linux. Anyone see where Shockwave for Linux is
at? No? I didn't think so. We're still second-class citizens in
Adobe's world.
