I haven't run windows since the unsuccesful 3.1 to 95 conversion, so I
wouldn't know. Where i use them at work, i pay no attention to anything
but my workload, which is plenty. If i start complaining about how bad
the software is, forget it. I'll just burn myself out and not get
anything done.

its a 800mghtz process built on P4+ technology. Actually, I've wondered
if it is a 64 bit chip. But the machine downstairs is a 500 mghtz
system, barely a step up from a 486.

They both suffer a basic flaw. the KDE desktop needs a kdeint ad
dcopserver. The server constantly fails.
Gnome needs bonbo, which also constantly fails and sucks. In fact,
Shani just moved from evoltion to thunderbird just for this reason.
These desktops are just too damn large and stupid to tie down a
computer.

I'm so tempted to install slackware....
I'd try Umbuto but I don't want the darn aptget database.
I'm thinking about it. Any suggestions?
