MATE for now, I've got work to do, and Debian only offers Gnome 3. Maybe Cinnamon later. Gnome is such a flustercluck, but it's representative of how things are going in Free Software these days. I'm starting to think the end of the FLOSS desktop is near. Not because nobody wants to use it, but because those with the skills to maintain them have increasingly little interest in doing so. As for the new stuff, I don't know who they're writing for, but it's not users.
