Because Foreign Service Officers don't do anything worthwhile, or if
they are, they're a dime a dozen and can/should be replaced with better
One of the several flaws in this line of reasoning (that I figure you're
relying on) is that you have fsck-all idea what a Foreign Service
Officer does, so you just assume that they're at best wasting taxpayer
money and at worst actively interfering with the public's benefit,
because you've bought into the Breitbart 'government is inherently bad
and must be destroyed' narrative.
FSOs are the people who help you when you are abroad and need
assistance, the people who keep our embassies and consulates going, who
help open doors for American business, who interact with foreign
governments and institutions on our behalf, and who advise in the
management of foreign policy based on their experience.
You might imagine that, as you wander around abroad, that you don't need
FSOs because you've never sought one out or needed to visit a US embassy
or consulate, which means you're lucky enough to have merely benefited
from their work without dealing with them in person. But if they'd not
been there to do it, ah, you would have been _so_ screwed.
Having amateurs and random maniacs in charge of our embassies and
consulates would be catastrophic. I'm not the _least_ bit surprised
that you think otherwise. It's part of your infantile model of how the
You keep thinking that it is a problem

The dog caught the car bumper. And now, as Trevor Noah pointed out,
with your bunch of anarchists at the wheel, as they break working
systems through sheer incompetence, there will be no excuses, and
everyone's going to know who the epic fuck-ups were. No more blaming
Obama and the Democrats. You lot get to own the whole mess, all the
stupidity, all the corruption, all the ineptitude, all the embarrassing
lies and pathetic gamesmanship, and all the moral depravity. I'll be
among those saying 'Those guys did it, and they were too stupid and
arrogant to learn.'
