standards for our field. Our technologists are conducting the widest
array of testing in this fast-paced, high-volume environment. This is an
amazing advancement opportunity to take on supervisory responsibility
and to oversee both technical and operational activities in our main
Blood Bank and the Blood Bank at our Cohen Women's Hospital.

As a Chief Technologist, you will supervise the activities of Laboratory
Technologists in the performance of qualitative and quantitative test
procedures. You will perform duties of a bench technologist where needed
and maintains quality assurance and quality standards as set by the
hospital and laboratory. You will also lead planning and direct daily
activities of personnel by preparing work schedules and assigning duties
so that there is adequate coverage and effective utilization of
personnel in the laboratory. At NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, employee

Required Criteria
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or equivalent
Extensive knowledge of Clinical Hematology and Clinical Microscopy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Minimum of 6 years’ clinical laboratory experience or 4 years'
experience with a Master’s degree
New York State Clinical Laboratory License from New York State Education
Department
Preferred Criteria
Supervisory skills and experience
ASCP certification
