Hey everyone
in a jaw dropping positive move Electronic Arts (EA) just released the
source code for some old Westwood studios games from the late 90's
under the GPL Version 3 licence.
its 6 games (though it can be argued its only 5 because 1 of them is
the remastered edition for Windows 8 of 2 of the others) from the
Command and Conquer series and the source can be found here

EA is a notorious company that has done some really bad things in the
past and even in recent years in the game industry, so I think this
move to licence some of their older games under the GPL should be
applauded by the community and I hope we see more of this from EA and
other companies.
I'm looking forward to seeing the first native Linux ports that don't
need Wine or Proton
