that is not true. They have installed unreliable materials and removed switches to undependable technology. They are using OFF THE SHELF Wifi for signally and even the City Council noted that they fail to understand why billions are being spent on technology that will be outmoded in less time then the rebuild will take place.
Your defense of the MTA is more than regretable, it is a disservice to the constituency.
These people have an endless supply of money and answer to NO ONE.
What makes the MTA unreliable is the HUGE numbers of homeless and mentally unstable people that occupy the system, pull breaks, fall on tracks, push people on the tracks, and the total disregard for service while falling in love with toys they can buy.
> Overnight and weekend service changes, such as the ones you mentioned below, > are planned specifically to minimize impact during peak travel times.
The only thing they will do is serve the MTA's ego. The ridership will continue to be bullwhipped to accepting filthy, unsafe conditions with ever increasing costs. This shutdown of the entire midtown business district on those weekends will give the ridershipp NOTHING but a huge capital budget deficit they do not deserve, and service desruptions they do not need.

It is a basic breach of contract. The MTA has too much money now and it refuses to respond to passangers NEEDS. They are shutting down the entire Eastside IRT for optional work that is unneeded and it kills my ability to get to work and to service my patients. > > > > > > eleases > > MTA Announces Service Changes on 4-5-6 Lines for Two Weekends in > > August > > > > MTA Announces Service Changes on 4-5-6 Lines for Two Weekends in > > August > > MTA > > Updated Aug 5, 2025 4:45 p.m. > > 6 > > Service on and Lines to Be Suspended South of Grand > > Central-42 St Aug. 15-18 and Aug. 22-25 for Concrete Replacement > > Work > > > > > > Line Operates Between Dyre Ave and East 180 St Both Weekends > > > > > > MTA to Run and Overnight 42 St Shuttle Trains Both > > Weekends > > > > > > New Concrete Will Improve Switch Function, Resulting in Even > > More Reliable Service for 1.1 Million Daily Riders > > > > > > > > The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today > > announced track replacement work along the lines that > > will require a suspension of service south of Grand > > Central-42 St during the weekends of Aug. 15-18 and Aug. > > 22-25. However, it is not New York City Transit’s policy to reimburse a customer for adverse travel conditions due to unexpected delays in service. In addition, New York City Transit policies do not provide for refunding taxicab fares or the cost of other means of transportation that customers may use in the event of a disruption or suspension in subway service. > > > > > > > > While our goal in such instances is to get service safely moving again, circumstances sometimes prevent us from doing so as quickly as we would like. If you experience something similar in the future, please request a "Courtesy Pass" from a Station Agent. A "Courtesy Pass" can be presented as payment for the fare on a subway line or local bus within 48 hours of issuance. It is meant to provide customers with the option to take another train or bus to get them moving again. > > > > > > > > Thank you for contacting us. > > > > > > > > John R. > > > > Customer Service Specialist > > > > > > -- > > > So many immigrant groups have swept through our town that Brooklyn, > > > like Atlantis, reaches mythological proportions in the mind of the > > > world - RI Safir 1998 > > > https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.mrbrklyn.com__;!!Pe07lN5AjA!Qrt > > > RWcCezqaXaieG_b3QsVM9wqy8BwY1PBfs65YAYMPJdQfYlwRW4W4E-diJwbK2NsTr_jPje > > > uXJ_393fWLgwg$ > > > > > > DRM is THEFT - We are the STAKEHOLDERS - RI Safir 2002 > > > https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.nylxs.com__;!!Pe07lN5AjA!QrtRWc > > > CezqaXaieG_b3QsVM9wqy8BwY1PBfs65YAYMPJdQfYlwRW4W4E-diJwbK2NsTr_jPjeuXJ > > > _3-iYNqq9w$ - Leadership Development in Free Software https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www2.mrbrklyn.com/resources__;!!Pe07lN5AjA!QrtRWcCezqaXaieG_b3QsVM9wqy8BwY1PBfs65YAYMPJdQfYlwRW4W4E-diJwbK2NsTr_jPjeuXJ_39OAFhFjA$ - Unpublished Archive https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.coinhangout.com__;!!Pe07lN5AjA!QrtRWcCezqaXaieG_b3QsVM9wqy8BwY1PBfs65YAYMPJdQfYlwRW4W4E-diJwbK2NsTr_jPjeuXJ_39P0_Esdg$ - coins! > > > https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.brooklyn-living.com__;!!Pe07lN5 > > > AjA!QrtRWcCezqaXaieG_b3QsVM9wqy8BwY1PBfs65YAYMPJdQfYlwRW4W4E-diJwbK2Ns > > > Tr_jPjeuXJ_3-c03gG_w$ > > > > > > Being so tracked is for FARM ANIMALS and extermination camps, but > > > incompatible with living as a free human being. -RI Safir 2013 > > > > -- > > So many immigrant groups have swept through our town that Brooklyn, like Atlantis, reaches mythological proportions in the mind of the world - RI Safir 1998 https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.mrbrklyn.com__;!!Pe07lN5AjA!QrtRWcCezqaXaieG_b3QsVM9wqy8BwY1PBfs65YAYMPJdQfYlwRW4W4E-diJwbK2NsTr_jPjeuXJ_393fWLgwg$ > > > > DRM is THEFT - We are the STAKEHOLDERS - RI Safir 2002 https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.nylxs.com__;!!Pe07lN5AjA!QrtRWcCezqaXaieG_b3QsVM9wqy8BwY1PBfs65YAYMPJdQfYlwRW4W4E-diJwbK2NsTr_jPjeuXJ_3-iYNqq9w$ - Leadership Development in Free Software https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www2.mrbrklyn.com/resources__;!!Pe07lN5AjA!QrtRWcCezqaXaieG_b3QsVM9wqy8BwY1PBfs65YAYMPJdQfYlwRW4W4E-diJwbK2NsTr_jPjeuXJ_39OAFhFjA$ - Unpublished Archive https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.coinhangout.com__;!!Pe07lN5AjA!QrtRWcCezqaXaieG_b3QsVM9wqy8BwY1PBfs65YAYMPJdQfYlwRW4W4E-diJwbK2NsTr_jPjeuXJ_39P0_Esdg$ - coins! > > https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.brooklyn-living.com__;!!Pe07lN5AjA!QrtRWcCezqaXaieG_b3QsVM9wqy8BwY1PBfs65YAYMPJdQfYlwRW4W4E-diJwbK2NsTr_jPjeuXJ_3-c03gG_w$ > > > > Being so tracked is for FARM ANIMALS and extermination camps, but incompatible with living as a free human being. -RI Safir 2013 > > > > ________________________________ > > CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This e-mail message is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain CONFIDENTIAL or PRIVILEGED material.
