Dear International Friends,
During spring 2026 the Mauritshuis will open an exciting new exhibition
BIRDS - Curated by The Goldfinch & Simon Schama. The exhibition will run
from 12 February to 7 June 2026.
Birds - we can't imagine life without them. To us, birds symbolise
freedom, beauty and love. But birds are also pets, a source of food or
hunting trophies. The exhibition BIRDS delves into our enduring
relationship with the creatures that we love, yet keep in cages. What does
our relationship with birds tell us about how we treat the natural world?
Tuesday 10 February - Special Preview & Lecture Event 18.30 - 21.00 h.
It is with great pleasure that we invite you, together with the Donateurs
and Companen for a special Preview Evening Event. Celebrated international
art historian and TV presenter, Simon Schama, will be giving the lecture
to us in the Foyer. You will then have the opportunity to visit the
exhibition and enjoy drinks and nibbles in the Nassau Room.
Special Preview Evening Programme
18.30 Doors open
19.00 Lecture in the Foyer from Simon Schama
20.00 Exhibtion Preview and drinks & nibbles
21.00 Evening ends
Cost to attend EUR30 for friends.

individual International Friend attending, ie twice if you have a joint
membership.
