p is recognized thank you Mr Speaker Mr 0:03 Speaker I yield two minutes to the 0:04 gentlelady from the great state of New 0:06 York Nicole malliotakis the gentleman 0:08 from New York is recognized for two 0:09 minutes 0:10 thank you Mr Speaker we've heard from my 0:13 colleagues the reasons why the 0:16 representative Omar should be re removed 0:19 from this committee and but I feel like 0:22 all the reasons have not just yet been 0:24 stated which is why I Rise to add for 0:26 the record we've heard about the 0:28 comments that were made regarding 0:30 anti-Semitism and anti-israeli Views but 0:35 I Rise to add to the record that as a 0:37 member of the Foreign Affairs committee 0:39 I've sat there and heard the 0:43 representative actually spew 0:45 anti-American rhetoric as well 0:48 I've been in that committee room where 0:51 the representative 0:53 equates Israel and the United States to 0:57 Hamas and the Taliban absolutely 0:59 unacceptable for a member of that 1:02 committee I've also heard the 1:05 representative 1:06 Kuwait that it is the United States's 1:09 fault that there is turmoil in Venezuela 1:13 that is not because of the oppressive 1:14 socialist and communism that has spread 1:17 throughout Central and South America in 1:18 Venezuela at the hands of the Maduro and 1:22 Hugo Chavez regimes 1:24 that is unacceptable 1:26 and as a New York representative to hear 1:29 the representative belittle 1:32 to try to diminish 1:34 the worst a terrorist attack on United 1:37 States soil on September 11 2001 as some 1:41 people did something that is 1:43 unacceptable as well and I hold the same 1:45 standard 1:47 for this side of the aisle that I do the 1:48 other because when another colleague on 1:50 my side said something about 9 11 I also 1:52 voted to have her removed from the 1:54 education committee because I thought 1:55 that was inappropriate 1:57 so I'm being consistent here and I hope 2:00 my colleagues will do the same to show 2:02 that this is about consistency and 2:05 accountability because we should not 2:07 have an individual with those views on 2:09 the committee that is tasked with 2:11 representing our country and our 2:14 Congress to foreign Nations I yield back 2:17 this young lady yields back
