If folks aren't aware of it, the war in Tzfat Israel has been
very hard on this holy city. It is usually a bussle of tourists,
resturants, clothing stores, realestate, artists, Yeshivot, and food
production. This has all been closed down and the kids have been out
of school for nearly a month. It is bombarded from Lebanon and it has
a large military presense in the city.
Comes Shabbot, there is dedication to tradition, but a lot of mouths
to feed and the sources of charity from the working class and the
industries in and around Tzfat are drying up as the local economy is
in deep trouble with the lack of tourists and travlers.
This is an excellent time to use the link above and give about $200
to the Tzfat food fund. It will go straight into the mouths of
brave and deserving people, families from every walk of life of the
Tzfat community.
