This from the guy who wrote off Ike Davis after one week. If

Shane Spencer? I'm not sure what idiotic point you're trying to make
here, since none of these moves from years ago have anything to do
with Sandy Alderson, but the fact that you had to go all the way back
to 2004 to do it just makes it all the more ludicrous.

>This year they had no choice but to do what I have wanted them to do (more or less) for years now.

The Mets didn't do what you wanted them to do. You wanted them to
trade Wright, to sign Reyes to a one-year, $25 million contract, to
release Jason Bay and to fire Terry Collins. They didn't do any of
those things.

> Sure they have little chance of winning a World Series, but they are fun to watch now, relatively-speaking.

Well, if watching a group of overmatched, AAAA-players get pounded
into the dirt by the likes of Tim Lincecum and Madison Bumgarner is
your idea of a good time, then you must have really enjoyed last
night's doubleheader. Or perhaps the residents of Monty World just
have a different conception of "fun" than the rest of us.

>Too many "fans" seem to prefer dreaming of a highly unlikely WS victory than in enjoying the game.

Yeah, just imagine, fans who actually want to see their team win a
championship. What the hell is wrong with those people anyway? Don't
they understand that it's much more fun to sit alone in your mother's
basement and watch them lose, then go troll on the internet for a few
hours about how stupid the manager is, how much you hate the team's
star player, and how much smarter you are than all of those other
dunces who actually care about what happens on the field?

>The major "issue" for me now is Terry's inconsistent managing.

Yeah, Terry Collins is clearly the biggest problem with this team.

>? For example, Tejada gets moved from top to bottom in the lineup, back and forth,

Tejeda gets moved around the order because the Mets don't have
a real leadoff hitter, because Collins is desperate to try and create
some offense (thanks in no small part to Tejada's .194 BA against
right-handed pitching), and because he doesn't have enough power to
hit anywhere except either the top or the bottom of the lineup.
Hitting Nieuwenheis leadoff is obviously a gamble, but he's certainly
handled right-handed pitchers better than Tejada has.

>but Ike, who looks as bad as the worst Little League play I've ever seen, gets to always hit cleanup?

So you're criticizing Collins for not moving a slumping Davis down in
the order, but when he moves a struggling Tejada down in the order
against a right-hander, he gets ripped for that, too? I guess it's a
good thing that we only demand consistency from major league managers,
as opposed to internet trolls.

> That is absurd, and it puts too much pressure on the young player.

Ike Davis isn't some green-around-the gills-rookie. He's a third
year player with 200 major league games under his belt. He's not
going to fall to pieces just because of one bad month. And it's not
as if the Mets are loaded with better options right now.

>Where did he learn how to manage?

Collins obviously lacks all of that valuable Little League experience
that you had. But just out of curiosity, who exactly is your idea of
a good manager? Bobby Valentine, perhaps? He just might be
available real soon, and he'd be perfect for a "fan" like you, because
as a major league manager, he's earned a big fat zero in the
championship ring department.
