Instead of getting a call back from the Communications director to address this very serious issue, I'm getting phone calls from the Dean of Students wanting to discuss my conversation with the staff. I left posts about this on the facebook page and CCed President Kline, Rabbi Tabi and Chairman Ghriga of the compsci department. While I was delighted to get a phone call from the school, this is not the phone call I expected. You called to ask me to see you in your office. When I asked specifically for what you wanted to say, you refused to disclose what exactly you wished to object to, but you wanted me to come visit you at the office anyway and apologized for upsetting me. The conversation was just bizarre. So I can only interpret this as a threat of some sort. As I can speculate as to why you wish for my presence in the office, your silence on this matter is just disturbing, and it falls in line with the behavior the school has during the lockout when the school basically took 2 weeks of the semester from the students, and I had to retort to talking to Albany about the prolonged situation because the administration was silent and would not respond to students. I very firmly and in a non-threatening manner protested the promotion of "100 Years of Deception", which is a self-published book that promotes anti-semetism and is a long conspiracy rant. It's promoted in the latest Alumni magazine. The book itself is listed HERE on the internet. http://outskirtspress.com/bookstore/details/9781478753667 The promotion in the Alumni Magazine is on page 42. Really? Is this what you want to defend? I view this as an attempt to either suppress my complaint, which is unacceptable, or a response related to my roll in the lock out, which is even more unacceptable. I'm happy to entertain the idea that I'm wrong about this phone call and response, but frankly, the school doesn't have a whole lot of credibility with me at this point. I'm not convinced that it behaves in the best interest of the students. I've been a member of this school since 1986 and an Alum since 1988. I've never seen this campus so tense, and with so much internal conflict. And yet, it serves such a vital roll in our community and holds so much promise. I would gladly recommend my kids to attend the school, especially the MBA program and the Education Programs. So convince me that this is not an aggressive response on your part. I would love to see the administration take a positive step at this point.
