I had a mild case in March 2020 and I got both shots in Jan and Feb of this=

We should talk about how and when we can resume New York Perlmonger=20
social meetings.

As best I can tell the last social meeting we had was Jan 27 2020 at the=20
Peculier Pub.=C2=A0 (We co-sponsored one tech meeting with NYCBUG on March =
3=20
2020 and had a couple of tech meetings via Zoom over the past year.)

On the one hand ...

1. The pandemic in the U.S. has been receding for some time.

2. Street/bar/restaurant life in New York City is clearly on the upswing.

3. Many people are now fully vaccinated.

On the other hand ...

1. Worldwide the pandemic is worse than ever.=C2=A0 In many countries the=
=20
more dangerous "delta" variant is outpacing vaccinations.=C2=A0 (See:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/06/16/delta-variant-ashish-jha=
-us-vaccines/)

2. The government (which in this case means the Cuomo administration) is=20
permitting things to re-open with a much looser definition of "herd=20
immunity" (say, 70% of the population *partially* vaccinated) than=20
