looking for a *Linux Engineer*. Your resume listed in our database or online

Operations.

The job:
This position requires an individual who is well versed in supporting Linux
systems with some legacy Sun/Solaris and Windows responsibilities. The ideal
candidate, a strong Systems Engineer, must enjoy working in a dynamic
setting with the ability to effectively juggle multiple priorities and
challenges. He/She will provide daily ongoing systems administration, apply
strong technical background and in-depth network administration skills while
interfacing with various levels of the business and other team members as
well as be a mentor for the Service Desk resources. The engineer's
experience must include Apache, Nagios, Oracle RAC and MySQL databases in a
clustered environment on HP, Dell, and vmWare servers running RedHat's Linux
OS.

Essential Functions:
- Act as a customer advocate at all times including during the assignment
and follow up of requests for network administration and support.
- Resolve escalated support calls and customer issues not resolved at the
first level of customer service support.
- Provide complex security access and changes for all servers including
requests for creation or modification of groups and directories or other
file access issues that cannot be handled at the first level of support.
- Provide support and daily administration for various server operating
systems
- Produce security reports, metrics and analysis as necessary to meet
corporate security and audit requirements and to support internal management
requests.
- Ensure the server and network environments are secure in accordance with
corporate security guidelines and directives.
- Assist with Network troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Ability and willingness to work on-call responsibilities, including nights
and weekends
- Participate in internal and external audits and produce audit
documentation and reports as necessary.
- Design, implement and maintain network software installation packages and
scripting.
- Design, implement, modify and optimize network login scripts as required
to meet client requirements.
- Adhere to defined service level agreements
- Ability to lead small scale network projects. Ensure adherence to
Corporate Technology Project Standard Practices.
- Ability to manage demanding workloads
- Ability to align technology based solutions with new and existing business
requirements.
- Present issues, decision factors and recommendations to management
- Adhere to defined service levels
- Ability to proactively manage client expectations.
- Provide proactive and professional communication to customers regarding
the status of their requests, ensure tracking software is updated with
current information on request status
