This afternoon the Senate is scheduled to vote on the Byrd Amendment,
which would strip *out* a huge increase (350,000) in the level of legal
VISA's granted inside a budget reconciliation bill.
Apparently, according to Numbers USA, a rider to *increase* the number
of H1-B and L1 visas was slipped in at the last minute by a lobbyist
for Microsoft and a staffer for Arlen Spector.
Jeff Sessions (R) is also sponsoring the Byrd amendment. Please call
your senators and demand that they vote for the Byrd amendment! This
is outrageous that the Senate would even consider increasing
immigration levels at a time when most agree that there is already way
too much immigration.
