Well I was thinking along the lines of a rackspace cloud box originally.
The problem is we host more than just our site so bandwidht would be an
issue because they bill based on the MB per month.
Oh and on the telex I agree they are one of the best colo providers and
they are cheaper than most. But cheeper than most is not nessisarily cheap
when you are paying for it personaly.
It might be a viable option to put the main server in wv and set up a dr
server in a rackspace cloud. That way if we do have a power issue and have
to switchover we would be fine
I was also saying it might be a good idea for us to put our email and lists
on a google mail server which we can host in their cloud for free because
of our not for profit status. We would be limited to 50 email accounts but
that would be fine.

Well I was thinking along the lines of a rackspace cloud box originally.=
The problem is we host more than just our site so bandwidht would be an is=
sue because they bill based on the MB per month.

Oh and on the telex I agree they are one of the best colo providers and the=
y are cheaper than most. But cheeper than most is not nessisarily cheap whe=
n you are paying for it personaly.

It might be a viable option to put the main server in wv and set up a dr se=
rver in a rackspace cloud. That way if we do have a power issue and have to=
switchover we would be fine

I was also saying it might be a good idea for us to put our email and lists=
on a google mail server which we can host in their cloud for free because =
of our not for profit status. We would be limited to 50 email accounts but =
that would be fine.

Telex is good but it will still cost you.

They just provide space and power you still have to purchase internet

serveice independantly.

Paul - you were just telling me a year ago that you would colocate the serv=
er because it was cheaper. =A0Where was that?

Host monster is ok but its shared hosting.

If you like I can ask if we can set it up in my fathers barn (new insulated=

barn not never used for animals) in wv. We would have to ship it down there=

but he's told me I could put servers there before.

He's got a buisness class fiber connection so the bandwidth is decent t=

down side is he's usually in mane these days so if we loose remote acce=

it may be a week or two before we can get it back up.

Also the ac isn't all that great in the summer when he's not stayin=
g there.

So he has had issues with ups units over heating. On the bright side you>
can't beat the free colo price.

Only one place I would recommend. Telx.

All sorts of connections available, rack, cabinets and cages available.

I've heard good things about Rackspace in the past. Not sure what

their pricing is or what they offer though

How about rack space?
