am continually looking at the examples for similar cases, but can't
determine the rotations independently.

In the case of the red-black example in the attached image, what is the
formula that is used to determine that the rotation is about the 200,
and that the rotation is RIGHT amonng the several solutions that can
solve this problem or back to back reds (aside from trying different
possibilities and seeing with matches the results of a formalized 234 tree)
