Perl Weekly=20
http://perlweekly.com/
You can read the newsletter on the web, if you prefer. http://perlweekly.com/archive/399.html
Hi there!
Tomorrow is the 102th birth anniversary of my father. You can read about him in wikipedia ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%C3%A1szl%C3%B3_Szab%C3%B3_(chess_player) ).
He was over 70 when PCs became available. He learned how to use DOS and later when the Internet became commercially available to homes, long before the 'web' he also learned how to use that. By that time I moved to Israel and we used to communicate via a telnet session using 'talk' and 'write'. He marvelled at the technological advancements. He surely would love the opportunities to learn and practice languages, and he would be worried that he sees the same expressions world wide that he saw in the late 30's in Hungary.
Oh, and regarding this edition, for some reason this week is full of grant-related reports and requests.
And I've just found out that either my RSS reader is broken, or the RSS feed of the Perl Maven site. Or both. I have to figure this out soon.
Enjoy your week!
