Position Overview American Jewish World Service (AJWS) is seeking an energetic, motivated and detail-oriented individual with an interest in technology and online communications to support the growing online component of our work. The Online Communications Associate will be an integral member of the communications team and will provide support to all departments, particularly Development and Advocacy, to help advance the overall mission of AJWS.
Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities of the Online Communications Associate will include but not be limited to: • Edit e-mail and website content as necessary • Send action alerts, event promotion, fundraising and other e-mails to both internal and external stakeholders • Participate in the process of creating and calendaring messages • Respond to online inquiries and troubleshoot issues • Work collaboratively with other departments to monitor and ensure information in online database is accurate and continuously updated • Produce periodic reports on web metrics and weekly online fundraising reports • Create periodic reports to monitor e-mail messaging and list activity • Manage a variety of other department projects as needed
Qualifications: • At least one year of experience in an online or communications-related field, with a strong interest in technology and communications • Knowledge of HTML and Adobe Photoshop required; experience with content management systems a plus • Mass e-mail production and e-mail list management experience preferred • Detail-oriented and well-organized, able to manage multiple complex tasks • Excellent interpersonal communication skills • Motivated self-starter capable of working independently as well as within a team environment • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including MS Excel and MS Access • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
