SUBJECT Re: [NYLXS - HANGOUT] The Unreachable Mayor's Office

Its paying 9 dollars to get off of the bridge, not to leave SI as Paul
mentioned. Since I have only lived in NYC since 2002, I see the prices of
everything going up and up. Mayor Bloomberg us a rich man since he does
live on Park Avenue.

My only complaint is the fact that bloomie here hasn't put a stop in the
MTA fare hike. It seems the MTA has money in concintency (sp) and one day
they dont. So MTA should make up their minds on what to really do. The
further up it goes, the more people will move out. In Boston, the fare use
to be 75 cents when I was a child, it is now 1.25. And once you take a
green line train outside of kenmore, its free! DC has a depending on where
you are going fare rate (for instance going from Silver Spring to DC can
cost you 1.25 but going from Silver spring to somewhere else can cost you
maybe 2.00.

So I may not have valid opinions since I did not grow up in this city, but
seeing how it is going up and looking dirty and crappy, makes me wonder if
living elsewhere is the thing to do.
