This is presently the policy in effect as of about two weeks ago. At the same time, NYLUG is incorporating, and it seriously needs a more diverse director base than it's going to end up with if people don't step up.
There are several people here that are already on boards. I invite you to request NYLUG directorship as well. You have valuable experience to contribute, and I think it would be great to have those kinds of ties between groups developing.
