I thought the Raffle and boat ride were two different things?

Last nights Board Meeting was very productive
I want to review some of the things which were discussed.
Finances: NYLXS has about $2,700 in it's balance the Asha Location is being closed. Joe Grastara, Kevin Mark, and Brett Wynkoop agreed to move our Tables out of Asha. We hope to get Vinnie to help us move stuff to Brooklyn Tomorrow
Classes: August Classes will be announced before Friday
CUNY Demo: The date was set for the CUNY Demo in Queens in October Dimitar is the point of contact.
Fund Rasing: Dinner for late October is planned. We hope to talk Brooklyn Borough Hall into having us as a guest for the affair. If not we are looking at other options We hope to attract a panel for the affair which would include Richard Stallman, and other Free Software luminaries
Dinner will be $200.00 a seat, plus we will have a VIP table for $500.00 donations which will sit for Dinner at the Panel.
Late Summer Party Cruise and Raffle: We are having a Party on party boat out of Sheepshead Bay, with Music and Wine. A Raffle will be held which will be a Fund Raiser for the FSI and part of the ticket.
It will be a blast....... This will be scheduled for the Last Weekend of August
Political Action: Everyone is to hammer our Senators about bill S2395. We are hammering the electronic DRM provisions. This is on the Senate Floor NOW
Video Recordings: We will be selling video recordings by next week of our classes for $95.00 each. Marco and I should be working on them with coming week.
Business Planning: Joe Maffia with the help of Micheal Richardson and John Bober will help create a business plan for NYLXS, which should help us get a loan for the FSI
Plans for a Large Free Software Meeting: As an extenssion of our experience in Europe, we hope to improve on the LSM in New York. Similar to the CUNY Demo, but more intense, we hope to create a world class event centered on Educational Discussions of Free Software innovation and use in the larger society. We are hoping to attract people from around the world for this meeting and to get corperate and Government Funding to help make this happen. We hope Dimitar can help us lead the way for this every, scheduled for 2003.
