Ed,

You could always teach your kid how to write Visual Basic viruses. It is
fun and easy. :)

Just Kidding.

Hey Ed

Everyone under the sun is now pushing their stupidity on you. It's getting
ridecules.

Java is complete shit, it is complex, and will get your kid nowhere. C is
not even to be
considered. Only an idiot would take a 5 year old and start to teach
compiler theory,
data types and pointers under C to a 9 year old.

Python is white space sensitive and fustrates kids.

USE PERL.

How do I know - gee whiz, maybe because I have kids and they use
computers...

You asked the wrong list this question anyway. We are actually working on
Children and Computer education in our education subcoommittee.
