unfortunitly a lot os afflications list /usr/bin/sendmail or the sendmail libraries as a dependancy its not the yast developers at fault yast is just going by what the rpms tell it.
you need some sort of mta like smtpd or postfix or sendmail even if you don't have it running or some applcations will break.

Why can't I uninstall postfix and exim with Yast on my laptop.
I have no need for a mail server on my laptop, despite what the yast
developers thing.
