Actually I mean MOST people. Most people need reading glasses some
time after turning 40. Most people turn 40.

Did you ever notice those reading glasses they sell at Rite-AID?

And this is an important point that your missing. Your trying to
make this personal and but in reality your the one analyzing this
device in a confined container which would include your limited
expereince. If you want to argue that some young people who have
a spare 500 dollars might find this a playful device that entertains
them, I give you that point. But for general use in the general
population it suffers too many limitations and its software design
is too fragile.

My full blown SuSE distro's are about 500 mgs in software. I
have a half dozen flash drives and flash cards that I'm currently
watching ripped DVD's from. It has ports for both and I move my
bulky data to them.

I never have that response with my Nokia. I carried it around for about
3 months and noone ever even noticed it. The mini-laptop however gets
instant responses on every subway and bus ride.

A blackberry is an electronic leash with real phone service. Businesses aren't going
to replace blackberrys with these things and its not the target market either.

Your in a very very small minority then.

Without a doubt. So then define the Nokia target? Because I don't think even
Nokia knows what it wants from these things.

It sucks for web browsing because the input device is a PIA. The new one
probably addresses this better.

Too small to do serious reading from.

Unless it builds in real cellular capability like an iphone, and the
ability to hook up with real monitor or keyboard it will continue to remain
a toy for most users.

They should make a form factory cradle for the device that fits into a USB
port that can interface with a large machine, making it more accessable when
not on the road. The easiest way for me to hack at it was to put it on the
wireless and ssh into it from my workstation.
