It's politics, so of course this entire matter is rancidly rotten. Two districts in the state have to go, and the interests of the people involved are not part of the consideration. This will be all about the political parties, and the politicians.
I don't know the facts of this matter, but I'd heard the most likely to go was Weiner's district. You can thank him for his recent performance and his being unliked by his colleagues that made this "easy choice" possible.
