Do you have a calibrated display? It's worth the small investment.
IMHO, the only safe way to know if what you see on your monitor is what you will get from a commercial photo printer is to send them a test file and see what you get back. If you don't want to spend $$ on a 16x20, send them a section of the whole image and get an 8x10 test print. Or, send one from GIMP and one from your other program. It will save you $$$ in the long run.

I'm using the Windows version of Gimp 2.10 .
When I create an image in Gimp to my satisfaction, if I display it in other Windows programs (e.g. Paintshop Pro) it looks much darker. Is there some option I need to set in order to have them look the same?
Basically, my problem is that if I were to send it away to be printed professionally, how would I know whether the print would correspond to the dark version or the light version?
