Absolutely. EFF has for a long time had a pretty good article warning
about this.
It's _colour_ laser printers, by the way, and just a specific set of
manufacturers' units are known to include the yellow 'microdots'.
(I.e., other brands -- Okidata, Samsung, and Xerox Phaser -- lack the
yellow dots, though they might use marking techniques that haven't been
figured out by outside researchers, yet.)

Somewhat more famously, most of the banknotes (paper folding money) of
the world feature a specific five-point pattern called the Eurion
constellation. Most photocopiers and scanners are hardcoded with
instructions to refuse to produce copies if they spot this pattern -- as
an effort to combat counterfeiting.
This is probably the original reason for the yellow microdots, and why
they are specifically on _colour_ laser printers, and not monochrome
ones: Governments don't really have to worry much about laserprinted
counterfeit banknotes that are B&W, only colour.
Look up Steganographic Nature Of Whitespace for another creative way to
hide information on printouts.
Anyway, yeah, if you're serious about opsec (operational security),
don't assume your printer cannot be backtraced from its printouts.
Maybe it can.
