Hello Ruben,
I got your contact information from your website, www.nylxs.com, and I wanted to see if I could come visit. Weeks ago I gave a technical talk to the North Dallas Linux Users Group about our EtherDrive storage blades. We had a great discussion and everyone seemed to have a good time. The EtherDrive storage blades are a way to connect disk drives directly on an Ethernet network. A GPL device driver for Linux competes the picture by making the disks appear local. We've defined a new protocol, AoE or ATA-over-Ethernet, to do this.
EtherDrive storage blades are like Storage Area Network but much, much less expensive. Now the Linux community can do a lot of nifty things that were too expensive before.
I would love to come and give a technical talk to New York Linux Scene about AoE and EtherDrives.
Check out our website http://www.coraid.com for a closer look. Email me so we can figure a time when I can come by.
