Connect to Care Services in an Improving Economic Climate
Here at Connect to Care, we are extremely proud of the work we've done over the past four years, and we are pleased to have helped over 5000 individuals access career counseling, skill building workshops, and networking opportunities. Almost 2000 people that have received FEGS Connect to Care services have become re-employed. Connect to Care was created by UJA-Federation of New York in 2009 to help those that were affected by the economic downturn. Given the changes in the economic landscape, a number of changes are taking place that we wanted to make you aware of. FEGS and all Connect to Care hubs are scaling down services to be consistent with demand beginning on July 1, 2013.
We want to reassure you that FEGS Employment Services will remain in place and FEGS Career Coordinators will continue to provide group and some individual services in the Connect to Care hub locations of Manhattan, Nassau, Westchester, Queens and Staten Island.
A few further changes:
* Clients living in Suffolk County can access services in Nassau
* The Brooklyn Resource Center will continue to offer a range of employment services
* Employment services will be offered at Shorefront Y, Kings Bay Y, and JCH of Bensonhurst through the Single Stop initiative
* Clients will also be able to access services in Manhattan
Please join us for an information session explaining changes to Connect to Care and the launch of our new program, Experience 2 Work (see below) on any of these three dates:
* June 26th at 10:00 am
* July 11th at 10:00 am

A New Connect to Care Initiative: Experience 2 Work!
We are proud to announce the launch of a new program entitled Experience 2 Work (E2W): a customized, four-week, intensive skill development and employment preparation program that will increase your competitiveness in today-s job market and increase your prospects for employment.
Aimed at job seekers 50 years of age and older, E2W offers:

? Immersion in Career-Related E-Learning Technology
? One-on-One Employment/Career Advisement Sessions
? Group Seminars on Successful Marketing Techniques and Networking Strategies

A fee of $125 enables you to access to the program, including a suite of online E-Learning Courses, to help sharpen your industry-specific technology skills and to make you more competitive and successful in your next job. E2W will be a great opportunity for many existing Connect to Care clients to get the skills boost that will make the difference in landing and keeping that next job.
