Nah. Every list is different. I'm on CrackMonkey, and have been known to participate in the "it made my d__k turn orange" jokes from time to time.
Are there any NYLXS Mailing List Guidelines? You should have them even if the guidelines are that anything goes, just so people know what the list policy is.
I believe you've more or less stated them here on the list "The list serves the membership", but it's worth putting it on a Web page for new people.
