The Phone Company has come and hooked up the line for the DSL, but I want to avoid the COVAD DSL Router. But I've confused about doing this. YAST has an entry for setting up DSL and the the information I have is this:
The Gateway IP has to be 64.105.122.137 and I'm assigned the Netmask 255.255.255.248
The authentication has to be through CHAP I have a password and user for the COVAD Gateway VPI/VCI 0.35
Anyone ever do this?
On another issue, I have the entire subnet mask, so I wanted to assign the network to the back of my network. I've been told by people I trust that this can't be done, but I don't know why.
I can't I assign the second card one of the IP Address and route the network through it?
Ruben
