By saying GNU/LINUX is not ready for the desktop you take away the chioce
of the person(s), company(s) that are looking to see whether to use it
or not. It may not be perfect, but it may be just what they are looking
for. Is there anyone out there who uses all the GNU/LINUX PROGRAMS? I
never like Kword or Koffice, I had my problems with StarOffice.
OpenOffice has a few drawbacks, but they can be used. I don't need
accounting programs yet. Graphic progams are a high hurdle i need to get
over. Yet none of this is why I got involed with GNU/LINUX NOR WAS IT THE
PHILOSPHY OF FREE SOFTWARE [That did not come utill I had been involed
with GNU/LINUX for 3yrs]. I started to use RED HAT 5.1 it was $20.00 and
said it did not crash. Had I known that the creaters were saying it
was not ready for desk top use, I would not have tried it.
I you want list the problems with GNU/LINUX while talking to a prosprctive
client or buyer please do so. BUT REMEMBER WHAT YOU SEE AS A PROBLEM MAY
BE OF NO CENCERN TO THEM. Don't take thier abiably to chose from them
the by telling them that "GNU/LINUX IS NOT READY FOR THE DESKTOP".
