Exactly like guns and butter! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guns_versus_butter_model (That's an Economics 101 thing. You wouldn't have heard of it.)

Um, how about because of vastly more people?
1980: 23 million 2016: 40 million
Seriously, Ruben? Was this _actually_ difficult for you to figure out?

Oh, you mean when the state population increases by 75%, we ought to increase the number of University of California campuses by 75%? I agree. But we iCalifornia citizens were able to afford only a 10% increase -- in large part because the money got diverted to building those 22 prisons.

Shoplifting and minor drug offences, two of the major categories on the books that stuffed the state prisons to such bulging proportions that the US Supreme court started intervening, were not 'swallowing' the citizenry of my state.
I care about my tax money not getting wasted on account of broken public policy. You appear to not care about my tax money. Which is predictable, but screw you on that. And, again, thank you for not being a California voter.

So, you're not _totally_ innumerate; you just cannot handle long division? _______________________________________________ hangout mailing list hangout-at-nylxs.com http://www.nylxs.com/
