Separately from that, perhaps it's in your interest to implement the amateur and reckless private company representative's pragmatic and sensible suggestion of inserting a header on those mirror-copy NYT & similar articles -- particularly http://mrbrklyn.com/resources/09BASE.html -- stating that this is your offsite mirror of the original site you made to preserve the contents against loss.
Actually, on reflection, scratch the word 'perhaps'. It's a good idea on its own merits, completely aside from the side-effect of also defusing Phishtank's objections. I'll bet you can automate the operation in a couple of lines of sed, or that newfangled 'Perl' thing you like. You could, e.g., make the script logic cause it to edit all HTML files containing the _New York Times_ copyright notice. You know, the one you're making a point of violating.
And I'm curious, why in the name of all that's holy you are housing page http://mrbrklyn.com/resources/09BASE.html on your site at all.
Greetings from Nice, France, where Deirdre and I are still waiting to hear whether M/V SeaDream I can do the second half of our cruise from Cannes following its engine fire at the beginning of September that they told us about just as we were getting on our flight. (The first half of our cruise was being cancelled, right then.)
