The biggest threat to free software that I see coming from the Google OS is
related to the license under which it is released, but the cloud computing
it promotes. This will pull huge amounts of users away from free software
such a open office and towards online software such as Google Docs. It will
also limit what the user can do with the desktop and the computer itself.
From what I understand of the chrome OS, it would be hard to install
anything extra on it. Please correct me if I am wrong.

All of this does not even begin to adress the privacy issues either.
