|well Frankly the whole open source thing came out of our own comunity. right or wrong it is actualy is serving a purpose in the long run as a steping stone to free spaech software to companies that would not otherwise consider it.
I'm personaly happy that VMware has GPLed most of their code. VMWare tried the open source thing first and has now turned to GPL for 95% of their code base. The progress is slow and may not be happening in the interum the way we would like it, however I would rather a slow change that gets the results we want then a quick bang that results in the long term as free speach software being nothing more than a historical foot note.
