It was nice to autograph t-shirts, a wonderful Brasilian tradition, and with so many female attendees seeking autographcs at last year's Software Livre, I think I am spoiled for life for any other free software event...
Actually, the other things they did were also very nice. One key thing to note from last year's software livre is that it was attended by the governer of the State of Rio Grand Du Sul. This was important because that governer and the party he represented had put together a unique combination of industry, universities, and state govt resources, all for the specific purpose of establishing and promoting a free software industry. With their recent national elections, that same party now happens to be the ruling party of the entire Brasilian nation. Naturally, our ambassador to their nation has expressed his extreme displeasure over this turn of events...
