Yes, it's not my favorite. It is that way, I believe, to convey an "outside the box" feeling. My opinion, if we were to keep it hanging off, would be to straighten it and give the s a "negative effect" where the box border intersects it.
Otherwise, IMHO, it seems/looks not as proper as it should/could be...
