I certainly didn't know you have good rapport with Evan. You tend to Cc non-subscribers such as reporters and school officials. For all I knew, the GMail address you were suddenly quoting from might have been one of those -- and the rant about hackerthons and proprietary software seemed out of proportion to what the other guy said.
Glad to hear that you and Evan do understand each other well, anyway.
